With a wide experience of organ playing in the Anglican liturgy especially, David is an invaluable colleague in any situation where playing at the highest level is required, along with a sympathetic understanding of a liturgical situation or ceremony.

David is very familiar with the standard repertoire of Anglican church music and choral works, and able to adapt quickly to any instruments with which he may be faced! On many occasions, David has performed the organ parts for orchestral and choral works; again, he has wide experience and has performed many of the standard works of the choral repertory.

David is available for freelance work as a choral director. He has worked with choral singers of all ages and is able to build a rapport quickly, in order to get the best results from a singers.

David is occasionally able to deputise as a chorus director, depending on his commitments at Christchurch Priory and in his other regular work.

Royal College of Organists

David is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, the highest UK qualification for organists, as well as holding the RCO’s Diploma in Choirtraining FRCO(DipCHM), for which he won the John Brook Memorial Prize for the highest marks in the practical section.
